France.tv UX Transformation Across Web, Mobile & TV

Led the design transformation of France.tv as the platform evolved into a content aggregator. I implemented a research-informed design process, introduced new UX principles, and aligned teams around accessibility, personalization, and content discovery. The result: a cross-platform experience built to scale with France.tv’s business goals and product vision.

Context

France.tv was shifting from a traditional streaming platform to an aggregator, similar to Amazon Prime Video or Canal+, inviting third-party content providers onto its platform.

To support this evolution, we needed to:

  • Industrialize a new brand identity across web, mobile, and TV
  • Implement a scalable, technical Design System
  • Elevate the user experience to include personalization, accessibility, and dynamic content discovery

These needs required more than visual design—they demanded a design approach driven by user insights, platform constraints, and long-term business goals.

Research & Insights

A major part of this project was defining and integrating a structured UX research process.

  • Analytics & Behavior Data
Analyzed platform usage and consumption patterns to prioritize high-impact UX improvements
  • User Research & Testing
Conducted usability tests and user interviews (via Testapic and CX collaboration) to identify friction in navigation, live events, and personalization
  • Industry Benchmarking
Reviewed competitors and aggregators (Netflix, Prime Video, Canal+, etc.) to identify best practices in accessibility, catalog structure, and content promotion

This research laid the foundation for a UX strategy aligned with real user needs and business direction.

Key UX Initiatives

The insights gathered drove several major design directions:

  • Accessibility
Ensured WCAG compliance across all platforms (web, mobile, TV)
  • Personalization
Introduced contextual content recommendations and adaptive homepage logic
  • Event-Driven Navigation
Designed new user flows for live streams, exclusive drops, and replays
  • Catalog Navigation
Improved content discovery through better search, filters, and hierarchy

Team Collaboration

Design was no longer a delivery layer—it became a strategic force across the product organization.

  • Worked closely with product, CX, and engineering teams to embed UX into roadmaps and delivery cycles
  • Introduced structured design processes: research sprints, iteration loops, validation testing
  • Created alignment between business, product, and tech by making design decisions measurable and collaborative

Results & Impact

While long-term metrics are still being collected post-launch, the transformation has already led to:

  • A repeatable, scalable design process grounded in research
  • Stronger alignment across teams—reducing delivery friction and redesign loops
  • Design becoming a strategic input, not an afterthought
  • A UX foundation that supports personalization, accessibility, and platform expansion

Why It Mattered

This project wasn’t just a redesign—it redefined how design operated at France.tv.The platform moved from a reactive design model to a long-term, research-led product strategy—laying the groundwork for its future as an aggregator and content hub.
